Untamed Territory pursues the investigation into the threshold at which painting stops behaving solely as a surface and begins to acquire body and spatial presence.

The work detaches from the wall and stands upright on an oval base. Viewers can walk around it and change their point of view: front, back, sides, transparency and light all take part in a single pictorial experience.

Front and back do not work as a main side and a secondary side. Pictorial matter, transparencies and light appear differently depending on the point of view.

The perception of the work is built between the membranes, the light and the viewer's movement. No single position contains the whole work: it has to be walked around.
